Commuting

Commuting

My friends who I was staying with prior to my conference lived about a 25 minute walk from downtown along a great trail. How entertained was I to see someone commuting on a unicycle? Very.

Looking across Victoria's inner-harbour from a great mosaic orca to the provincial parliament buildings. That Victoria is one pretty place.

The high and mighty Empress Hotel with it's expensive yet tiny rooms. At least it's not a rectangular box and the halls do look like the halls in the Shining. :)

Jamie is failing miserably at staying dry but is succeeding wildly at his impression of Singing in the Rain.

These guys were hardcore. It was November and that's the Pacific Ocean. Just in case there was any question, that IS NOT Hawaii.

Ahhh, Mystic Beach. I heard many good things about it and was glad to go, even in the "less than hospitable" conditions.

Vancouver Island

Back in November I was lucky enough to visit Victoria for a conference and a little holiday time. I would hate for these photos to disappear into the ether as I'm pretty fond of them and the memories associated with them.

Winter on much of Vancouver Island means rain and green. This image is from Goldstream Provincial Park just north of Victoria. I loved the moss coating many of the trees and the diffused light.

This is some ceiling detail in what I seem to remember is the Crystal Room at the Empress Hotel in Victoria.

The grocery store by my friends place.

Totem outside the museum in downtown Victoria.

The "Galloping Goose" is a trail in Victoria, BC. This is proof it wasn't rainy the whole time I was there.

What can I say? I liked the image.

I like grass.

Ooops!

I'm starting to realize this blog serves mostly my own purposes. Anyone who visited regularly would get bored awfully quickly as it has been months since I added here. Well, at least I can add a little more to keep you on your toes.

I always liked this shot of Nathan floating the disc for Fly Paper/Super Bag. I guess I'm funny that way.

I also liked how the defender in this shot was wearing a leisure suit.

And as Log travels the world I can't help but wonder if he was trying to drag his knuckles on the ground and dance around like a monkey after throwing the disc. Hmmmm.
